As a community supported organization, Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area exists because of the generosity, dedication, and compassion of our volunteers. Whether you are interested in volunteering in our direct hospice care services, bereavement programs and support groups, or working outside in our hospice garden, we would love to have you as a volunteer!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Hospice Care Volunteers provide direct support to our clients and their families, such as companionship visits, respite care, help with errands, life review and assistance with hobbies and crafts. Following a 24-hour training program, volunteers receive ongoing supervision and continuing education. Our next training will be offered in spring 2026.
For more information about Hospice Direct Care Volunteers, please contact
Sarah Swift-Simons at sarah@hvwa.org or call (207) 873-3615, extension 15.
Our Bereavement Care Volunteers facilitate our grief support groups for adults as well as provide one-on-one peer support to clients. Our Hope's Place Volunteers facilitate our groups for grieving children. All bereavement volunteers are trained in group facilitation and issues around grief and loss.
Other Opportunities are also available! We are looking for volunteers who can tend our perennial garden, help us in the office, or be part of our fundraising and special events teams. To join us or to learn more about any of our volunteer opportunities, please call (207) 873-3615, extension 15, or email hospiceinfo@hvwa.org.
