As part of our hospice program, we offer volunteers who are trained to provide compassionate non-medical care and support to people in the community faced with life-threating illness.

Hospice care volunteers offer:

  • Emotional support and compassionate listening

  • Companionship

  • Respite for caregivers

  • Practical support, such as transportation, light meal prep, shopping and errands

  • Hobbies and interests

  • Life review

  • Spiritual support

  • Tender Care vigil support

Our services are available for anyone with a life-threatening illness and a prognosis of up to two years. We also offer support to families during this time.

Our service area covers a 25-mile radius around Waterville, including 27 communities. We accept referrals from physicians, counselors, hospitals, clergy, family members, as well as self-referrals.
