Creative Ways you can Support Hospice

Bereavement | Support Groups | Direct Care | Complementary-Care

Support Groups


Our support groups are led by experienced, trained hospice volunteers with the support of professional counselors. Each meeting offers an educational component as well as opportunities to share.
No pre registration is necessary for these groups, though we do appreciate speaking with you prior to your coming.

Ongoing Groups


Men's Grief Group:
For men experiencing any kind of loss due to death. Meets the third Monday evening of each month, 6:00-8:00pm. Co-facilitated by Rich Roughgarden and Ron Lindholm.
Women's Group:
For women experiencing any kind of loss due to death. Meets the third Monday of each month, 6:00-8:00pm. Co-facilitated by Jan Osborn and Nancy Chamberlain
Widow's Group:
For women experiencing the loss of their husband or partner. Meets the first and third Mondays of each month 6:00-8:00pm. Co-facilitated by Deb LaVoie and Marge Lindholm
Widow and Widower's Group:
For men and women experiencing the loss of their wife, husband or partner. Meets the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, 10:00am - noon. Co-facilitated by Jan Osborn and Mary Larsen.
Caregiver's Group:
For men and women who are currently caring for a loved one in the final stages of life. Meets the fourth Thursday of each month, 1:00-2:30pm. Co-facilitated by Jan Osborne and Pauline Veilleux.
Children and Teens:
For children and teens experiencing the loss of any loved one. For children and teens, please see Hopes' Place, A safe supportive environment where grieving children, teens and their families gather to gain support.

"As Needed" Groups


Six Week Groups
A generic group for adults whose loved one has died. Sessions are held at least twice a year.
Parental Loss Group
For adults whose parent has died. Meets for eight weeks, held as needed.
Survivors of Suicide Group
For those whose loved one has completed suicide. Held as needed
Grieving Parent Group
For those whose child of any age has died. Eight-week sessions are led by hospice volunteers who have experienced death of a child. Held as needed.
Infant, Stillborn and Pregnancy Loss Group
Meets for six weeks as needed. Co-facilitated by Mimi Roughgarden and Katharina Burdet
