picture of child Five peer support groups meet concurrently in which young people meet with others their own age, and parents/guardians with other adults. Children and teens are encourged to process grief through the healing arts, music, dance and play.


Mission Statement: Hopes's Place provides a safe and supportive environment to grieving children, teens and familes through peer support groups, which nurture and encourage safe expression of grief and loss. Hope's Place honors each child's individuality and their process towards discovery of resiliency and emotional well-being. picture of smiling children

Grieving Children's Program to offer Facilitator Training in August
The Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area is thrilled to announce another Hope's Place facilitator training which is set to begin Tuesday, August 7, 2007. Training will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5-9pm through August 29, 2007. There will be a Wednesday night in-service attending Hope's Place on August 22, 2007. Hope's Place is HVWA's program for grieving children and teens. This program serves any family in Central Maine who has experienced the death of a loved one, services are free. This 30 hour training will be taught by the staff and volunteers at the Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area's Community Center, 304 Main Street. Class size is limited to 16. There will be a $50.00 processing and materials fee.
